Fried Green Tomatoes
Ingredients

3–4 firm green tomatoes, sliced ¼-inch thick

Salt & black pepper

½ cup all-purpose flour

½ cup cornmeal (or cornmeal + breadcrumbs mix)

2 large eggs

¼ cup milk or buttermilk

Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
Instructions

Prep tomatoes:

Slice tomatoes and lightly sprinkle both sides with salt.

Let sit 5 minutes, then pat dry.

Set up dredging station:

Bowl 1: flour

Bowl 2: eggs + milk, whisked

Bowl 3: cornmeal (season with pepper if desired)

Coat tomatoes:
