🥩 Slow Cooker Barbequed Beef Ribs

Salt & black pepper

1 tsp smoked paprika (optional)

1 tsp garlic powder

½ cup beef broth or water
-
Optional: 1–2 tbsp brown sugar, chili powder, or hot sauce for extra kick
Instructions

Season the ribs
-
Pat ribs dry.
-
Rub with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
-
-
Sear for extra flavor (optional but recommended)

Heat a skillet with a little oil.
-
Sear ribs 2–3 minutes per side until browned.
-

Load the slow cooker
-
Place ribs in the slow cooker.

Pour BBQ sauce and broth over the ribs.
-
If you like sweeter ribs, sprinkle a little brown sugar on top.

Cook low & slow
-
LOW: 6–8 hours

HIGH: 4–5 hours
-
Ribs are done when meat is tender and pulls away from the bone easily.
-

Preheat oven broiler to high.
-
Remove ribs from slow cooker, place on baking sheet, brush with extra BBQ sauce.
-
Broil 3–5 minutes for a sticky, caramelized glaze.
-
Tips for Maximum Flavor
-
Don’t skip searing if you can—it deepens flavor.
-
If sauce is too thin, reduce in a saucepan after slow cooking.
-
Serve with classic sides: coleslaw, cornbread, baked beans, or roasted veggies.
If you want, I can also give a spicy-cajun version, Asian-style BBQ ribs, or a 3-ingredient minimal-prep version that’s still insanely tender.
This looks delicious. Will definitely make this next weekend.
