🍞 Biscuits and Gravy (Southern Classic)
Ingredients
For the biscuits

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tbsp baking powder

½ tsp salt

6 tbsp cold butter, cubed

Âľ cup cold milk or buttermilk
(Store-bought biscuits work too—no judgment)
For the gravy

1 lb breakfast sausage
-
â…“ cup flour
-
3–4 cups whole milk
-
Lots of black pepper
-
Salt to taste
Biscuits (Quick Version)

Heat oven to 425°F (220°C).

Mix flour, baking powder, salt.

Cut in butter until crumbly.

Stir in milk just until dough comes together.

Pat out, cut biscuits.

Bake 12–15 minutes until golden.
Sausage Gravy
-
Brown sausage in skillet over medium heat.
Don’t drain the fat. -
Sprinkle flour over sausage; stir 1–2 minutes.

Slowly add milk, stirring constantly.

Simmer 5–10 minutes until thick.

Season heavily with black pepper and salt.
Serve It Right
