🧀 Golden Crispy Mozzarella Sticks
Ingredients

12 mozzarella string cheese sticks

½ cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs
-
1 tbsp water
-
1½ cups Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs (or panko for extra crunch)

½ tsp garlic powder
-
½ tsp onion powder
-
½ tsp paprika
-
Salt & pepper, to taste

Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
Instructions

Prep the cheese
Cut cheese sticks in half if desired. Freeze for at least 1 hour (this is the secret to no cheese leaks). -
Set up breading station

Bowl 1: flour

Bowl 2: eggs whisked with water

Bowl 3: breadcrumbs + garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt & pepper

Bread the sticks
Roll each stick in flour → egg → breadcrumbs.
For extra crispiness, repeat egg + breadcrumb step (double coat). -
Freeze again
Place breaded sticks back in the freezer for 30 minutes. -
Fry
Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
Fry 2–3 sticks at a time for 1½–2 minutes, turning gently, until golden brown. -
Drain & serve
Remove to paper towels. Serve hot with warm marinara sauce.
